We Were Here First!

You sneak across the border to the USA.

You take the jobs we won't do anyway.

You make babies here so that they can stay.

Here's what we have to say.

We were here first! We were here first!

All you Mexicans are just the worst.

We don't need this country to be more diverse.

Can't you see we were here first?

You started out bringing in bootleg booze.

Soon you were fitting people for concrete shoes.

You like making offers no one can refuse.

But we've got some news.

We were here first! We were here first!

All you Italians are just the worst.

If I say it too loud I may end up in a hearse.

Can't you see we were here first?

On March 17th you show us all how to drink.

Saint Patrick may love you, but here's what we think.

You must have slipped ashore while somebody blinked.

So let us be succinct.

We were here first! We were here first!

All you Irish are just the worst.

You think you're better than us, but it's just the reverse.

Can't you see we were here first?

You broke your treaties. You stole our lands.

Our women and children died at your hands.

Our way of life never had a chance.

But none of you understands.

We were here first! We were here first!

All you white men are just the worst.

This is a grudge we've had ages to nurse.

Can't you see we were here first?

So many species that used to thrive

Are finding it harder just to survive.

Your sprawl and pollution threaten all of our lives

Ever since you arrived.

We were here first! We were here first!

All you humans are just the worst.

Since you came this place has been cursed.

Can't you see we were here first?
